Hello,

I'm forwarding you a URL which gives the layout of our basement.

http://www.beautazz.com/basement.pdf

I'm trying to figure out what would be the best way to layout our duct work for our Santa Fe to cover the whole basement. Doors will be closed most of the time because we have small children.

The plan is to have the Santa Fe in the furnace area. A HVAC contractor recommended just ducting the supply & return through the wall at " X " position on the layout. If we do that I'm thinking that isn't going to do anything for the storage area, but would cover the rest of the basement.

What would your recommendation be on ducting our basement after seeing our basement layout?

Thanks

MDP

The ducting recommended by the contractor may provide total control. If not a tee with a small duct to the utility area could be added.  Dehumidifying the main rooms of the basement will effect the smaller area enough to control the humidity.  The utlility area does not have to be as dry as areas will carpeting.  Keep us posted and thank you for bussiness. Regards Ken
