I have an Advance in my crawlspace and use a condensate pump to remove the water captured by the Advance. The condensate pump has a safety swtich that can either turn off a furnace or activate an alarm. Currently, I have it connected to an alarm. I would prefer, however, to use the safety swtich to turn off the Advance instead of activating the alarm. What is the best way to connect the condensate pump safety swtich to the Advance to turn it off?

Currently, nothing available.  We have a project open developing an add-on device.  Check back in 90 days.  Thanks for the opportunity. Ken

Hello Ken,

It's been a little over 90 days since your reply.  Is the add-on product to cut off the Advance when the condensate pump shuts off now available?  Thanks.

Sorry about the delay.  I got the prototype in hand.  It has too many dangling wires for me to offer to you. Beta test models not ordered yet.  Contact me in a month for dates.  Ken

I have been avoiding your post because of no news.  The interest in completing the dehu cut off is low.  The design is stalled.  I have another option. You mentioned an alarm.  Check out this device.

I have one on my desk.  It's available for $25. Alarms like a smoke detector.  Thanks

Thanks but I already have an alarm.  I purchased it at Lowes for about half the price of the Sonin.  http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=117272-84862-BWD-HWA

I cut off the water sensor on the alarm and connected the two wires from the alarm to the N.C. circuit on the condensate pump safety switch.  It works fine.  The only problem is if I am on vacation and the alarm sounds, I won't be able to hear it.  Hence I am looking for a relay to connect the N.O. circuit on the safety switch so it will cut off the power to the receptacle to which the Advance is attached.  I tried to find a relay at the big box stores, ACE hardware, and Radio Shack to no avail.  No one knows what I am talking about.  Any suggestions as to where I can find a relay?  What kind of relay am I looking for?

Thanks.

Joe
