We just moved into our new home with an Ultra-Aire 150H. Everything seems to be working just fine. Now I'm wondering what's the best way to program/control the Ultra-Aire 150H.
Because of all the construction dirt and dust around the house, we would like to keep the windows and doors closed at all times. We're hoping that the Ultra-Aire 150H can be used to help keep the air inside the house fresh and circulated.
If we have the fan set to "ON" will the fan run all the time? And if the damper is set to "ON" will that fan be bringing in fresh air the entire time, too? Then, in addition, can we use the programming features to do a "dry down" once a day for a few hours, and not dehumidify the rest of the time? If so, is that a good approach?
Finally, if we run the fan in our Ultra-Aire 150H a lot, will that be hard on the unit? ...shorten the life? ...or not something to worry about?
Thanks!
- John

The damper "On" will also operate the fan with the damper open. The time of dehumidification is not an option. Best allow the dehumidifier operate when the %RH exceeds the setting. [b]Finally, if we run the fan in our Ultra-Aire 150H a lot, will that be hard on the unit? ...shorten the life? ...or not something to worry about?

- John Yes, operating the dehumidifier shortens it's life. But the unit should last 10-12 years with this kind of operation. Go for the ideal %RH. The operating hours will be acceptable. Keep us post on your results. Thanks again for the post. Ken
