Hello,
I bought a house a year ago. Home Built in 1994. It's 1400 sq home 3 bedrooms to bath. Gas heat vents are above all windows. The windows have thick honeycomb shades the type you pull up to look out. They all have water dripping and mold inside the windows and mold along the window and inner wall of window. HELP!!! What can I do??? Rambler home.

I am sorry, but we hide a great descrption of your problem and the solutions. The short story is warming the surface of window or decreasing the moisture content of air at the surface of the surface. Heavy window covering, set-back thermastats, and a lack of fresh air ventilation are the most common problems. If you have more question after reading the lit, post asap. thanks Ken

| How do u warm the windows? I live in Washington State and temps drop during the winter time. Heat been around 65-69 in the house. Last night I didn't turn on the heat and keep all of the heavy curtains up. Checked window and no condesation/moisture except for the bathroom window. So I opened it up and inside was mold cleaned out and let the fan run. So do you think I might need my attic checked? What I will do is for two weeks open windows in the home for a few minutes everyday...Though it is so cold  for a minute or two. Should I also get a dehumd?

| Winter humidity- Crack a couple window just a little and operate bath fan for several hours or more everyday until the windows are dry. Some wet homes need to operate a small bathfan continuously. A dehumidifier is used when the outdoor dew points are +55^F and the home is +60% RH inside. Unless visible mold in attic, do not worry. Ken
